KAWEKA PRIVATE HOSPITAL
TONNES: 550
MAIN CONTRACTOR: GEMCO
LOCATION: Hawke’s Bay, NZ
JOB TYPE: Structural Engineering
Working alongside Gemco, Patton Engineering provided 550 tonne of steel for this new, 4 level private hospital in Hastings. This world-class health facility has a complex, yet visually stunning design that required a highly collaborative effort from all involved. Awarded the Regional Architecture Award, the project has also been registered with the New Zealand Green Building Council and is Hawke’s Bay’s first Green Star building.
“Patton Engineering was engaged to carry out the structural steel work on the Kaweka private hospital. This was a negotiated contract, and they were chosen because of their professionalism with getting heavily involved with the project Engineers and Gemco from day one. Their ability to accurately price, detail, offer solutions and ultimately deliver a quality project with no hold ups, meant the project remained on programme. Having the advantage of operating their own paint shop also was a big advantage. This meant quality standards remained throughout the whole process. Patton was defiantly a big part of the reason the project was delivered on time and to a high standard. Gemco would highly recommend working with Patton’s and would happily engage them again for any project.”
