Renowned for his generosity, George Patton was always giving to those in need - from the donation of the steelwork for the Park Road Presbyterian Church, to having the family live with worn carpet because he’d given the money to a colleague to help him set up a business.
That spirit of giving back lives on today with the growing number of sponsorships and initiative’s that Patton Engineering are proud to support across Hawke’s Bay.

The Hastings Boys’ High School Technology Initiative
At Patton Engineering we have a continued commitment to the community we are part of, and it’s that dedication that lead to the launch of the HBHS Technology Initiative.
With a long-term vision to improve the quality of our workforce, support local talent and inspire students at grass-roots level, we have partnered with 28 like-minded companies to fund this programme for Hastings Boys High School, providing an engineering workshop, cutting-edge equipment, work experience, scholarships and apprenticeships, and continuing the Patton Engineering legacy of giving back to Hawke’s Bay.
SUPPORTING YOUTH
Big Brothers Big Sisters, Hawke’s Bay
For the last few years, Patton have been lucky enough to be part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters programme in Hawke’s Bay. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a registered charity that matches young people with supportive adult role models. As sponsors we provide support for two young people a year, offering mentoring, training and tours, and the opportunity to advance skills in the future.
Patton’s sponsorship also contributes to the ongoing training, support, and development of the mentor, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to thrive in their role.
We take our hats off to the volunteers who take the time to help these young people reach their full potential through strong, positive relationships.
