OUR STORY

In 1952, George Patton - an inventor and innovator ahead of his time started Patton Engineering

to provide superior precision and general engineering in Hawke’s Bay. Renowned for his ingenuity, expertise and enthusiasm, George originally operated the small workshop on his own with his wife, Iris doing the books.

As Patton Engineering’s reputation grew, so too did the business -launching a manufacturing section to provide forklifts and the iconic ‘tilt-a-doors’ and bulldozer blades which George invented.  These impressive engineering feats put Patton Engineering on the map as the go-to business in Hawke’s Bay for exceptional customer service, a can-do attitude and sought-after project management skills. A legacy that continued after George’s retirement in 1980 when his sons Gavin and Mike purchased the business and worked together for 46 years to take Patton Engineering to the next level.

In 2018, the business was sold to Johno Williams and Andrew Burn, 20- year veterans of Patton Engineering, who have kept that spirit of innovation alive with the expansion into the Patton Group and an unwavering focus on the future of engineering.
